A Women’s Retreat On

May Day

Woodbury — On Sunday, May 1, Mind Body Works of Woodbury, Sound Body Production Company, The Elders Drum Project of Litchfield, and Sunnyfield Studio of Southbury, are hosting a daylong May Day Women’s Retreat at Old Woodbury Town Hall.

Registration begins at 8:45 am. Workshops start at 9 am to 3 pm and include a light vegetarian lunch.

This is the second retreat of its kind to be offered by the group. The first was held last summer, women attended from all over Litchfield County. Participants will experience workshops on the theme of renewal and revitalization.

The morning will offer Holistic Movement Reeducation with massage therapist Rosetta Eddy from Woodbury, followed by a singing workshop, entitled The Heart Sings, led by vocalist and peace educator Victoria Christgau from Litchfield. After a short break for lunch students will experience The Power of The Drum with drummer, songwriter Fre Atlast, also from Litchfield. The afternoon will conclude with movement to live drumming, a Kripalu DansKinectics workshop led by Melissa Murphy Duda founder of Sunnyfield Studio in Southbury.

Women of all levels of experience are invited to attend. Participants are encouraged to bring a hand drum although there will be several available for those who do not have one. The fee for the day is $100, which includes a vegetarian lunch. Anyone wishing to attend needs to preregister by April 18. To register or for a brochure call Rosetta Eddy at 203-266-0001 or Fre Atlast at 860-567-3441 or e-mail freatlast@mac.com.
