Colorful fruit bowls, self-portraits, and gleaming ceramic pieces created by Newtown’s kindergarten through twelfth grade students are on display at Newtown’s Municipal Gallery at Fairfield Hills, 3 Primrose Street, through April 12.

The gallery in the main hallway at the Newtown Municipal Center is generally open weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm and during evenings when boards and commissions meet. The artwork is on display along the main hallway of the building.

District educators worked after school on March 29 to hang the artwork for the district art show. Among the pieces on display are some of the recent award winning NHS student artwork entries in the 2018-19 Connecticut Regional Scholastic Art Awards held at the Silpe Gallery at Hartford Art School, University of Hartford, West Hartford, between January 13 and February 1; and the Teen Visions, Connecticut’s 2019 High School Art Exhibition, held January 27 to February 10 at the Art & Design Gallery at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield.
