Safety: The First Priority
Safety: The First Priority
To the Editor:
I happened to be in the parking lot of the Newtown High School when the police converged on the suspect across the street at Berkshire Motors on March 31.
I was walking into the high school side patio where many students were outside during their lunch period. Within seconds, the administration had every single one of those students safely in the cafeteria, library, and other safety zones. The entire high school was on lockdown status immediately. I witnessed firsthand the administration ensuring the immediate safety of the students and implementing all emergency precautions during this serious crisis situation. It was a comfort to know that the administration at our schools are well-equipped and prepared to respond to an emergency situation and the safety of our children is their first priority.
