American Legion 'Kids Walk' To Benefit Connecticut Children's Medical Center
MONROE - Newtown American Legion Post 202 is supporting the Sippin-Winspur American Legion Post 176 of Monroe in sponsoring the Third District Walk-A-Thon for Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC).
Members of the Newtown post will be walking alongside many others on Saturday, April 28, beginning at 10 am, at Great Hollow Lake, 454 Purdy Hill Road.
The Connecticut American Legion has been a strong advocate for children and youth since its inception. This steadfast dedication has never wavered and continues to be a driving force on behalf of children across the country today.
For more than 25 years, the American Legion Family has conducted a Kids Walk to benefit children in need. The legion's goal this year is to bring the legion family and local community families together in support of the children cared for at CCMC. All pledges and donations to the Kids Walk will benefit CCMC, the comprehensive pediatric hospital located in Hartford.
The day's event will include a 1- to 3-mile walk. Bottled water and snacks will be provided for participants in the walk. T-shirts will be awarded to walkers with $25 or more in sponsor donations.
All are invited to join the fundraiser for CCMC. For information contact Newtown American Legion Post 202 at americanlegionnewtown@gmail.com.
If you are a veteran who has served at least one day during time of war, you may be eligible to become a member of the Newtown American Legion. Overseas service is not required to be a member.
