Occupation: I am a senior web product manager a The Taunton Press.

Family: My husband, Andy, who works for Forecast International here in town as a senior analyst. Our daughter, Molly, is 8 years old and a third grader at Head O’ Meadow School, and Sean is 12 and in the seventh grade at Newtown Middle School.

Pets: We have two dogs, a labradoodle named Zoey, and we have a Jack Russell “Terrorist,” Rosy. Her real name is Rosalind Russell. Rosy is 10 years old and Zoey is 5. We have a turtle, Peekie, and a guinea pig. I call him “Pig.” I’d have more pets but then I’d be less one husband.

How long have you lived in Newtown? Just about eight years now.

What do you like to do in your free time? I don’t have much now, but I’d go back to cartooning and illustrating if I did have time. I’ve done some trade books and illustrated some SAT books in the past. I also help friends develop websites.

Do you have a favorite artist? James Thurber is one person I really love for his writing and illustrations. I like to meet cartoonists and collect their autographs. I met Dana Fradon, a New Yorker cartoonist, at the post office. I’ve seen Bruce Degen from afar, and I love his work.

Do you have a hero? An 8-year-old daughter of a friend of mine who is fighting cancer with a smile. She’s the bravest girl I know. Also, my friend, Liz D’Orso, because she hides her age so well.

What is the best thing about Newtown? I love the community. We moved here from Norwalk, where both my husband and I grew up. I like going into The Big Y and seeing more people I know than I knew in high school.

If you could time travel, would you go to the future or the past? I would go to the past in Newtown. There is such a great history here; it would be fun to see it in real time. I’m really into Newtown history and Newtown has done such a good job of preserving it.

Do you have a personal philosophy? I would say, dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.

What do you most cherish? My kids and my family. They make me whole, too, in addition to the dogs.
