NewtownREADS Programs
One book, one community⦠The whole town is encouraged to read and then discuss a single book: C.H. Booth Library has selected To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
Gordon Williams will lead a book talk at Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road, Tuesday, April 10, at 1 pm, and all are welcome. On April 24, Joanne Rochman will lead a discussion at the library, starting at 7:30 pm.
On April 26, a free author talk and book signing will feature Charles Shields, the author of Mockingbird: Portrait of Harper Lee, at Newtown High School, at 7:30 pm.
The final NewtownREADS Mockingbird event will be a mock trial theatrical performance on Saturday, April 28, at 2 and 7 pm, at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street. Tickets are $5 for the matinee and $10 for the evening show, which will be followed by a reception.
