Anna Rae Kretsch and Zev Antell were married on December 16 at Temple Israel of Westport. The service was performed by Rabbi Orkand at a Saturday evening ceremony followed by a reception at the Longshore Inn.
The bride graduated from Staples High School in 1997 and continued her education at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania, graduating with a major in Spanish in 2001. She worked at Maryâs Center in Washington, D.C., and then received a masterâs in social work from Columbia University in 2003. Presently she is working for Catholic Charities in Richmond, Va., as a case worker and group counselor.
She is the daughter of Tom and Sandi Kretsch of Westport; Mr Kretsch grew up in Newtown. Her maternal grandparents are the late Pearl Newman of Norwalk and Bernard Newman. Her paternal grandparents are the late Hans Kretsch of Newtown and Marian Kretsch, now residing in Southbury after having lived in Newtown for nearly 40 years.
The bridegroom graduated from The Park School in Baltimore, and Washington and Lee University in 1997 and spent three years in New York working as a paralegal before entering law school at the University of Richmond where he will graduate this spring and begin working for the firm of Butler, Williams and Skilling.
He is the son of Mark Antell of Alexandria, Va., and Sue Antell of Baltimore, Md. and Delray Beach, Fla.
After a honeymoon in Hawaii the couple returned to their home in Richmond, Va.
