Lincoln Sander Appointed Executive Director Of ADA
John Keith Russell, the president of Antiques Dealersâ Association of America (ADA), has announced that Lincoln R. Sander, a resident of Sandy Hook, will replace Satenig St. Marie as executive director of ADA. Ms St. Marie retired at the end of March, after serving more than 20 years as ADAâs first executive director.
Mr Sander and his wife, Jean, have been antiques dealers for more than 35 years and have exhibited at many fine antiques shows in New England and New York. They exhibited for more than 20 years at the spring and fall Hartford show and at the first show conducted in New York City for the Museum of American Folk Art, as well as the new TAAS show. They also exhibited at the Wilton show and at Mid-Week in New Hampshire.
Mr Sander was an executive in the printing paper industry for more than 40 years and retired in 2000 as senior vice president of the Websource division of Unisource Worldwide. He then helped start up a new company, Strategic Paper Group LLC, headquartered in New York City. He retired from Strategic in 2004. Most of his career in the paper business involved working with the book publishing industry in North America.
Mr Sander is a voting member of the American Institute of Economic Research. He is also the president of the board of trustees of Newtown Historical Society and a member of Newtown Lions Club. He is affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage as a consultant on the purchase and sale of antique homes.
âWe are fortunate to get Lincoln to take on this important role for ADA,â said Mr Russell. âLincoln has been intimately involved with our organization since its inception. As one of our founding members, Lincoln has served in the past on various positions on our board, including that of president and treasurer. His long experience and dedication to ADA makes him ideally suited for the job.â
âI am thrilled to take on this position as Jean and I have cut back on our activity in the antiques business and are no longer doing shows,â said Mr Sander. âThis is a way I can keep involved in an industry with an organization I truly love.â
ADA moved its headquarters to Newtown effective April 1. The new address is PO Box 529, Newtown CT 06470. The new phone number is 364-9913 and fax is 364-1147.
