The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown will have a watercolor demonstration by Janice Baragwanath on Wednesday, April 11, at 7:30 pm. Ms Baragwanath will paint a portrait in watercolor from a model.

The program is open to the public free of charge and will be held in the lower meeting room of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street.

A popular teacher and workshop instructor, Ms Baragwanath has been teaching in her Trumbull studio for over twenty years.

Working in a realistic style using either transparent watercolor or opaque gouache, Ms Baragwanath explores a variety of subject matter including portraits, New England architecture, and Caribbean landscapes. Her work was featured in Watercolor Magazine Winter 1999 and Winter 2000 and her commissioned  portraits of Connecticut Superior Court Justices hang in the courthouses of Bridgeport and Stamford.
