NEW YORK CITY â The New York Botanical Garden will host its 15th annual Antique Garden Furniture Show and Sale Friday, April 27, through Sunday, April 29.
More than 30 dealers will offer fine pieces at this venue for garden antiques. The show kicks off with a benefit preview party and collectorsâ plant sale Thursday, April 26, 6 to 8 pm. (Early Preview Party entry at 5 pm is available for an additional cost.)
During the three-day event, fountains, statues, benches, urns, sundials, birdbaths and botanical prints will be on view. Throughout the weekend, antiques experts and designers will provide demonstrations, tours and talks. Show hours are 10 am to 5 pm each day.
The show, sponsored by Garden Design magazine, offers an opportunity for learning about garden antiques and building on personal collections. The show takes place in a tent surrounded by flowering trees, plants and shrubs outside the landmark Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.
Admission is $18 for a combination ticket that includes access to the show and the Botanical Garden grounds. The preview party offers enthusiasts and collectors the opportunity to view the antiques and plants and make early purchases, while enjoying cocktails and hors dâoeuvres. The New York Botanical Gardenâs lush and colorful exhibition, âCaribbean Gardens: Journey to Paradise,â will be on view during the Antique Garden Furniture Show and Sale. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see the new LuEsther T. Mertz Library gallery exhibition, âParadise in Print,â as well as the new âAuricula Theatreâ in the Nancy Bryan Luce Herb Garden.
