‘Survival By Degrees’ And The Future Of Birds, At Next Town & Country Garden Club Meeting
Readers are invited to join The Town & Country Garden Club on Wednesday, April 9, for “Survival by Degrees,” to be presented by Allison Middlemass from Bent of the River Audubon Center in Southbury.
Climate change is affecting our birds, and we need to determine what actions people can take to mitigate it. Shrinking and shifting ranges could imperil nearly half of US birds within this century.
Audubon’s scientists are plotting a future for birds. Middlemass will share how birds could survive if humans intervene.
Allison Middlemass is a naturalist, environmental educator, and artist. She is the senior coordinator of community conservation programs at the Bent of the River Audubon Center. Her role includes being an educator for the center as well as building partnerships with communities in underserved urban areas such as Waterbury.
The April 9 program will take place at Newtown Senior Center, 8 Simpson Street (use the community center entrance). It will begin at 7 pm.
The program is free, and all are welcome. Reservations are not necessary.
