To the Editor:

In John Karlson’s letter “A Disturbing Letter” (The Letter Hive, March 29, 2024) for him to suggest Trump is the only one who can bring this country together is preposterous and downright scary.

Here is a partial list of why Trump should never be re-elected to the Oval Office, and for several on the list should be criminally convicted and jailed:

-incited the January 6 violence that led to the takeover of the US Capitol

-would not call off his thugs even when there was a chance his VP could be killed

-threatened then Georgia Secy of State Raffensperger to find “11,780 votes” to overturn the 2020 election

-said there would be a “bloodbath for the country” if he doesn’t get re-elected this November

-said he will prosecute his political enemies if he’s re-elected

-wants to take fundamental rights away from women, people who identify as LGBTQ+, people of color and immigrants

-he has disparaged war heroes who were captured or killed as “losers” and “suckers”

-mocks the handicapped

-found guilty and liable for sexual assault

-he admires autocrats and murderous dictators

-his response to the Covid-19 pandemic was to say “it’s going to disappear … like a miracle, it will disappear…” and then comparing it to the seasonal flu

Trump creates chaos then exploits it. He cares nothing for the American people, only for himself. He wants power and will do, say, lie, cheat, whatever it takes to be in power.

He has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution and Rule of Law.

God help this country if it falls into the hands of this individual!
