Shirley M. Camejo, 84, of Delray Beach, Fla., former longtime resident of Newtown, died on March 30, at Bethesda Hospital in Florida. She was the widow of Raul Camejo, Sr. Born in Brewster, N.Y., she was the daughter of Marjorie Vail Hyatt and Charles Hyatt, Sr.

Mrs Camejo was retired from Tilcon Connecticut in Danbury. She was active in Cub Scout and Boy Scout programs in Newtown for more than 30 years. She was awarded the Silver Beaver Award, scouting's highest award for adult leaders. She was also very active in community events in both Newtown and Delray Beach.

Her two sons, Raul Camejo, Jr, and his wife Debra of New Hampshire and Richard Camejo, Sr, of Newtown; her grandchildren, Christopher Camejo of New Hampshire, Richard Camejo, Jr, of Newtown, and Rachel Camejo of Dublin, Ireland; her brother, Warren Hyatt, Sr; and several nieces and nephews survive her.

Calling hours are Thursday, April 5, from 5:30 to 8 pm, at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury.

Interment will be Friday, April 6, at Newtown Village Cemetery with a graveside service at 11:30 am.
