Tony Posca Donates
More Than A Bakerâs Dozen
To the Editor:
There was a lot of excitement and a lot of money raised on Sunday, March 30, and none of it could have happened without the help of Andreaâs Bake Shop at 5 Queen Street. Tony Posca was kind enough host my fundraising run for Newtown Youth & Family Services.
At 9 on that Sunday morning, I started out from Porcoâs Karate Academy in Sandy Hook and ran up the hill to Andreaâs Bake Shop. There Mr Posca provided me with a baker dozen of glazed donuts. While I was eating his allotment, Mr Posca gave free donut holes to the onlooking adults. In order that the children would not be left out, and so that more money could be raised, Mr Posca donated $1 and gave a free donut to each child that did five pushups. He even provided a mat on which children could do their pushups.
At the end of the morning he provided free apple fritters for everyone there. After finishing his 13 donuts, I graciously declined a fritter.
Thank you again Tony Posca for all that you did that morning. We appreciate all you did for us and the Newtown Youth & Family Services.
