Numerous Promotions Announced At Newtown Savings Bank
Newtown Savings Bank recently announced a group of officer promotions. The mutual community bank, headquartered in Newtown, has more than $830 million in assets. Established in 1855, the NSB has 12 branches in Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, Monroe, Newtown, Shelton, Southbury, Trumbull, and Woodbury.
The recent promotions include:
Maureen B. Birden, vice president, branch manager, has been an employee of Newtown Savings Bank since 1973. Ms Birden has held the position of branch manager of the Sand Hill Plaza branch in Newtown for the past 17 years, most recently as an assistant vice president. Well known in the Newtown community, she is an active and enthusiastic volunteer who currently serves on the boards of both Newtown Family & Youth Services and the Newtown Chamber of Commerce. Ms Birden is a graduate of Connecticut School of Finance & Management, and is a longtime Newtown resident with her husband Jay, and sons Jesse and Erik.
Kimberly R. Dahm, vice president, residential mortgage closing manager, joined the bank in 1997 and currently works in the loan origination department overseeing residential mortgage loan closings, construction loan administration, and small business loans. She has a BS in accounting and finance from Teikyo Post University, and is a graduate of Connecticut School of Finance & Management. A resident of Newtown with her husband Bob, Ms Dahm actively volunteers for local community events including the Newtown Labor Day Parade and the Newtown Family & Youth Services Holiday Festival.
Kathleen A. Gugliotti, vice president, corporate sales administrator, joined the bankâs marketing department in February 2006 and is responsible for supporting the bankâs sales operations, all branch merchandising and deposit product marketing. She has an extensive marketing background and serves on the boards of both the American Bankerâs Association Marketing New England chapter and the Greater Waterbury Chamber Business Womenâs Forum. Ms Gugliotti has an MBA from the University of Hartford and a BS in marketing from Post College. She resides in Southbury with her husband Gary and daughter Victoria and is active with St Rose School, Newtown.
Tanya Wulff Truax, vice president, marketing and public relations manager, has worked for Newtown Savings Bank since 1996, originally as branch manager of the Monroe office. A member of the marketing team for the past three years, she is primarily responsible for public relations, community advertising and loan marketing. Ms Truax earned both an MBA and bachelorâs degree from Sacred Heart University, and is also a graduate of Connecticut School of Finance & Management. She is a member of the Greater Valley Chamber Marketing Council and Women in Networking and lives in Monroe with her husband Steve.
Dennis A. Friedman, assistant vice president, information systems, joined the bankâs information systems department in July 2006 and is responsible for overall analysis and implementation of new technology systems. A resident of Newtown, with his wife Maureen and children Andrew and Marisa, Mr Friedman serves as Technology Committee chair for the Newtown Board of Realtors. He holds a BA in behavioral science and is currently working toward dual masterâs degrees in technology management and business administration at the University of Bridgeport.
Stephen J. Osowiecki, assistant vice president, treasury manager, has been an employee of bankâs finance department since December 2005. Mr Osowiecki is responsible for overseeing the bankâs day-today treasury functions, including cash management, investing and borrowing funds as needed, and wire transfers. He holds a bachelorâs degree in finance from Saint Anselm College, and is currently attending the National Graduate School of Banking. Mr Osowiecki recently moved to Beacon Falls with his wife Laura, and daughter Jillian.
