Biographies

Every year, Hawley’s third graders have to choose a person and read biographies about them. After, the students have to make either a time line, web, or chart to present information on the life and major accomplishments. One classroom I visited was Mrs Attanasio’s class. The students had very unique choices. Students presented biographies of Derek Jeter, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Betsy Ross, Bonnie Blair, Pocahantas, Albert Einstein, and Shirley Temple. Student after student, dressed in costume, went up and told about their person using their time line, web, or chart, to present information to their classmates.

It was an interesting and fun way to present a biography.
