*Tony Summo and Lou Bellofatto, who 30 years ago were part of the band Steeplechase, continue to play occasionally under their new name, OLD SCHOOL. The guys will be at Proud Mary’s, the bar and lounge at The Inn at Newtown, 19 Main Street, for the next two weekends.

The guys – with Tony on guitar and Lou on keyboards, accompanied by custom recorded tracks to give them a full band sound, will be in the house on Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 11. Both shows will get going around 9 pm. Sets will cover music from the 50s through the 80s.

*Self professed “music freak” JESS BAROLOTTA will bring her guitar, piano and vocal talents to Mocha Coffeehouse in Sandy Hook for an 8 pm show this Friday night (April 3).

Saturday night the Glen Road venue will be filled with the acoustic pop of BRIAN DOLZANI, who continues performing in support of his fourth release, called Compass. Both shows will run 8 to 10 pm.

*Blue Z Coffee House, over on South Main Street, has a full lineup of music set for most weekends this month (and beyond…). Shows are free of charge and most get underway around 7. This weekend’s highlights will include THE HIP REPLACEMENTS, playing favorites from the 1960s and 70s, on Friday night (7:30 to 9:30); and THE DRUMBUMS, who will provide the live music tomorrow night while Newtown resident and artist Joanne Keane also celebrates the opening of her new exhibition, called “Source: Surrender” (see elsewhere in this week’s Enjoy section for details about the art show).

Next weekend singer-songwriter and guitarist COREY DURKIN will perform on April 10, and then JIM ALLYN and RICK BRODSKEY will return for a show on April 11.

Blue Z will host an open mic night on Thursday, April 16, and then KATRINA BOUDREAUX will return for her latest show on Saturday, April 18, this time with SUNBERRY TREES — a guitar-violin duo — in tow.

*Still celebrating the success of their recent opening sting for Lou Gramm over in Ridgefield, THE DOUG WAHLBERG BAND will return to The Georgetown Saloon in Redding tonight. Showtime is 9 pm and there isn’t a cover charge to get in.

Until next week I’ll be seeing you... on the road.
