Two SHS Students Place At State Level

For Reflections Contest

The 2001 PTA sponsored “Reflections” contest open to elementary school students brought awards to two Sandy Hook Elementary School students who placed at the state level for the competition.

Students were to express themselves in either literature, music, photography, or visual arts centered around the theme “It would be really strange if...” according to Trish Ford, first vice president of the Sandy Hook Elementary School PTA.

Will Northrop placed third in the literature category and Samantha Rappa received honorable mention in visual arts. The winners will be honored at the State PTA Convention in Waterbury this month.

This is an annual program in which students participate at local, state, and national levels.
