Current Diseases In The Landscape
The Horticulture Club of Newtown will conduct its next meeting on Thursday, April 12. The group will be at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street in Newtown. The program will begin at 8 pm.
Sharon M. Douglas, a plant pathologist with Connecticut Agricultural Station in New Haven, will be the guest speaker. She will present a program entitled âCurrent Diseases in the Landscape.â
Ms Douglasâ program will be a general discussion on the current plant health problems encountered by homeowners in landscape plants across the state. The discussion will focus on how to recognize specific diseases and their associated symptoms.
Emphasis will also be placed on the management options for control of these diseases including culture, sanitation, resistance, and biological and chemical methods.
Non-members are welcome to attend, free of charge.
