Cottingham Show Opens

NEW YORK CITY — Forum Gallery, 745 Fifth Avenue, opened its doors last week to a new exhibition of still lifes by the Newtown based artist Robert Cottingham. “Robert Cottingham: New Still Lifes” is on view through April 24.

Oils, gouaches and pencil drawings from Mr Cottingham’s “Typewritter” series fill the fifth floor gallery, and paper pulp paintings from his new “Components” series lined the walls of the gallery one floor down.

A large crowd was on hand at the opening to view the works that ranged in price from $11,000 for a graphite on vellum study entitled “Lynn’s Portable” to $125,000 for an 84- by 82½-inch oil on canvas entitled “Underwood Side View.”
