DANBURY â A program on diabetes and foot care will be held at Danbury Hospital on Monday, April 19, from 7:30 to 9 pm.
The Diabetes Club of Danbury, a support group for people with diabetes, their families and friends, is sponsoring the meeting, which will feature guest speakers Cynthia Cornelius, DPM, attending podiatrist, Danbury Hospital, and Michael Fein, DPM, chief of podiatry. Both are members of the hospitalâs adjunct medical staff. They will discuss âDiabetes & Foot Care: Taking Steps Forward for Better Health and Control.â
The diabetes club meets at Danbury Hospital on the third Monday of most months. Support group meetings take place in the back of the cafeteria located on the third floor of the South Building. The goal of the free monthly programs is to provide continuous up-to-date information and education regarding the day-to-day management of diabetes. Robert Ruxin, MD, Danbury Hospital Department of Medicine, Section of Internal Medicine, serves as the medical director of the Diabetes Club of Danbury.
The next support group meetings will be on May 17, June 21, September 20, and October 18.
