David L. Kohn, an undergraduate majoring in physics and mathematics at Columbia University in New York, New York, was recently named a recipient of the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship. Goldwater Scholars have gone on to receive Rhodes Scholarships and Marshall Awards, among numerous other distinguished fellowships.

The one- and two-year scholarships cover the cost of tuition, books, and room and board up to a maximum of $7,500 per year.

The Goldwater Foundation, a federally endowed agency honoring Senator Barry M. Goldwater, was designed to foster and encourage outstanding students to pursue careers in the fields of mathematics, the natural sciences, and engineering.

The following students received Dean’s List honors from the following colleges or universities:

Katherine M. Tarshis from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga., Lauren Michael from Syracuse University in Syracuse, N.Y., Lauren McCusker of Sandy Hook from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Aja Richard from Manhattan College in Riverdale, N.Y.
