Annual Children’s Fishing Derby Slated

The annual Children’s Fishing Derby will be held, rain or shine, on Saturday, April 10, from 8 am to 12 noon, at Dickinson Town Park on Brushy Hill Road. The Derby is open to all children ages 12 and under. The Newtown Fish and Game Club, co-sponsors of the event with the Newtown Parks and Recreation Department, will stock the pool with 250 trout ranging up to 19 inches in length. Prizes will be awarded for a number of categories. There will be no charge for the Derby. There will be coffee, tea, hot chocolate and donuts for sale. Members of the Fish and Game Club will be on hand to assist all new anglers.
