Scholastic Chess Tournament Scheduled At Sandy Hook School
Students attending any Connecticut School or who are home schooled, grades K-12, are invited to the 2017 Scholastic Chess Tournament, Saturday, April 8, at Sandy Hook Elementary School, 12 Dickinson Drive.ctkidsplaychess@gmail.com.
There will be five separate sections: grades K-2; 3-4; 5-6; 7-8; high school, grades 9-12. Each entrant will play four opponents in their own section.
Games in the high school section can be US Chess-rated, if players agree.
Play begins around 10 am and ends about 3 pm.
Trophies will be awarded to the top four players in each section, plus digital chess clock to the high school winner. Medals will be given to each participant not winning a trophy. The Top Elementary School Trophy will go to the school with the best four scores from the same school in grades K-4.
Send name, address, school, grade, chess rating (if any), and $19 entry fee payable to CKPCI to Glenn Budzinski, 1 Black Cherry Lane, Sandy Hook CT 06482, to be received by Thursday, April 6. No other membership or fees required.
