Cherished Time

With Family

Wayne Enos Martin 70, beloved husband of JoEllen, died March 24, in Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, with his family at his side. He was born August 21, 1941, son of Doris D. and Enos P. Martin.

In addition to his loving wife of 46 years, he is survived by his three children, including Jeanne Flynn, and her husband Mark, of Newtown; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He cherished his role as big brother to his five siblings, Ronnie, Tom, Bernie, Eileen Lawler, and Janie Mitola.

He worked for Stop & Shop for 46 years, having started at the age of 16.

Mr Martin was a longtime resident of Milford, where he raised his family. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, friend, and PopPop. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren. He led quietly by example, doing the right thing, living a happy life, and enjoying the little things that many people miss.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing golf.

Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, March 29, from 4 to 8 pm, at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford. A prayer service will be held at noon, Friday, March 30, at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr Martin’s name to Memorial and Honor Program, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
