Members of Trinity Episcopal Church gathered on the congregation's front lawn on the morning and early afternoon of March 24, the day of March For Our Lives rallies across the country, to show their support for the movement to end gun violence.
The event was called Lift Them Up and was led by the youth of the ministry. Trinity representative Ben Toby said that more than a dozen of the church's members made the pilgrimage to Washington, DC, to attend the rally and that they stand with Parkland.
While some members of Trinity held signs with messages, like "Prayer + Action = Change," others helped create prayer flags where people could write messages, tie them on a line, and watch their prayers be cast to the wind. The public was also invited to write letters to representatives to take legislative action.
