Police: No DUIs For St Patrick's Day, Other Traffic Enforcement Reported
Police said they conducted special roving patrols for traffic enforcement during the St Patrick’s Day holiday period. Law enforcement grant money subsidized the extra patrols.
Lieutenant George Sinko said that police issued no violations for driving under the influence.
Police did stop 13 motorists concerning speeding, however. They also one driver for a stop sign violation, pulled over one motorist concerning defective automotive equipment, and stopped four motorists for miscellaneous motor vehicle violations, Lt Sinko said.
Police conducted the extra patrols during two eight-hour periods — from 7 pm on March 17 to 3 am on March 18, and also from 7 pm on March 18 to 3 am on March 19, he said.
