Ashlar of Newtown at 139 Toddy Hill Road, and its adjacent assisted living community, Lockwood Lodge, are hosting a free informational seminar for the community on Wednesday, April 2, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. The seminar will be held in the Lodge Room at Lockwood Lodge, and a complimentary dinner will be served during the presentation.

Robert Kennon, MD, a physician with Orthopaedic Surgery, PC, of Middlebury, is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in adult reconstruction and joint replacement surgery. In his presentation, Dr Kennon will explain in detail what a patient can expect to happen before, during, and after surgery and will stress the important role postoperative exercises and rehabilitation can play in a patient’s recovery.

A question and answer period will follow.

Dr Kennon, a graduate of Yale and Emory Universities, performs hundreds of knee and hip surgeries each year and has recently published a book on the subject. The book will be available for purchase that evening, and Dr Kennon will personally sign each book purchased.
