Train Rides To Visit The Easter Bunny

DANBURY — The Easter Bunny will once again pay a visit to the Danbury Railway Museum and museum visitors can take a ride in a vintage train through the historic railyard to visit him. The popular annual family event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13, and Friday and Saturday, April 18-19, from noon to 4 pm each day. Admission is $6 (age 1 and up), and each child will receive a small gift.

The short train ride in a 1920s vintage passenger coach pulled by a vintage diesel locomotive will take visitors past the only operating turntable in Connecticut, over 50 vintage railroad cars and locomotives, and many unique pieces of railroad history, including a Boston & Maine steam locomotive built in 1907.

The exhibits inside the restored 1903 Danbury station, including the model train layouts, will be open.  A special photo exhibit featuring photos by Jack Swanberg, “A Railroad at Work – The New Haven Railroad 1956-1966,” is currently being shown.

Danbury Railway Museum is at 120 White Street. For further information visit www.danbury.org/drm or call 778-8337.
