Open Burning Season Extended

Due to anticipated moist conditions during April, the town fire marshal’s office has extended the season for the open burning of brush by one month, until May 1.

Open burning permits may be obtained at the fire marshal’s office at Canaan House at Fairfield Hills during normal business hours.

Permits are good for one day only, unless special circumstances warrant a permit that is good for more than one day. Permit holders must check with the fire dispatch center on the day of permit to confirm that weather conditions are suitable for open burning.
