Bethel’s Temporary Library Open

BETHEL — Bethel Public Library has reopened at its temporary location at 137 Greenwood Avenue, the building that houses Hauser Chocolate. Access is from School Street and Greenwood Avenue. Stroller and handicapped access is from Greenwood Avenue only.

The book drop is open only when the library is closed. The book drop is located on the deck behind the temporary library.

While operating from the temporary location, the library will provide as many of the existing services as possible. The library’s goal is to provide the best possible library service during this transition time.

Since the new location is only approximately 2,000 square feet, however, most of the older books will remain in storage.

All books received in the last six months will be at the temporary library, and books not available may be reserved from other libraries. All of the library’s videos, CDs, and books on cassette or CD will be available.

The library will continue to operate during normal hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:30 am to 8 pm; Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 9:30 am to 5 pm; and Sundays (until June) from 1 to 5 pm. Call 794-8756 for additional information.
