A Successful Appraisal Day
A Successful Appraisal Day
To the Editor:
I would like to thank the patrons and appraisers who participated in the Newtown Historical Societyâs sixth annual Antiques Appraisal Day held Sunday afternoon. Without them we would have no event.
Special thanks to Tucker Frey, Wayne Mattox, Jack DeStories, and Steve Stieglitz, our capable, professional panel of appraisers who performed 150 appraisals in under three hours. They once again proved themselves to be knowledgeable beyond expectation.
I would also like to thank Sherry Paisley and the Heritage Preservation Trust for allowing us to use the Meeting House as our setting again this year. Their generosity and assistance contributed to our overall success.
Lastly, I would like to thank Joe Grasso for the loan of amplification equipment which allowed us to provide entertainment and education for those who came and listened. All in all, it was a great day of learning, fun and fundraising!
We hope to see everyone next March for our seventh annual event.
Sincerely,
Elin F. Hayes
