Angel Investor Starts GoFundMe Campaign For Avielle Foundation
Ron Conway, founder of SV Angel, has started a GoFundMe campaign,[naviga:u] [/naviga:u][naviga:u]https://www.gofundme.com/carrying-on-jeremys-mission[/naviga:u], to support The Avielle Foundation. In his GoFundMe page, Mr Conway states, referring to Dr Jeremy Richman, [naviga:u]who died March 25,[/naviga:u] “his legacy and work must continue. I am starting a GoFundMe to raise money for The Avielle Foundation.”
The Avielle Foundation was cofounded by the recently deceased Dr Richman and his wife, Jennifer Hensel, in memory of their daughter, Avielle Rose Richman, one of the 20 children killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School on 12/14.
Ron Conway, according to [naviga:u]svangel.com[/naviga:u], is “the Founder and Co-Managing Partner of SV Angel. Ron has been an active angel investor since the mid 1990s. He was the founder and managing partner of the Angel Investors LP funds (1998-2005) and was included in 2010’s Vanity Fair 100 most influential people in the Information Age.
He was awarded Best Angel at The 2009 TechCrunch Crunchies Awards. He was named No. 13 in Forbes Magazine Midas list of top “deal-makers” in 2011, among many other honors. Mr Conway is also “an advocate for immigration reform and a co-founder of fwd.us.”
SV Angel is an angel investment firm out of San Francisco, Calif., run by Mr Conway and Topher Conway, co-managing partner of SV Angel. The website notes that Topher Conway “was included in Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30 in 2015. Prior to SV Angel, he worked at EQAL Inc. At EQAL, he worked with the Business Development and Sales teams and led efforts in creating new business opportunities,” and he handles numerous other business partnerships and relationships.
Recent donations to the GoFundMe campaign for The Avielle Foundation include $100,000 from Ron Conway and $5,000 from Topher Conway. Donations range from $10 and up. The campaign had received $146,000 of its $300,000 goal by mid-afternoon March 27.
