Platinum Rings
A woman who was at Dickinson Park at 50 Elm Drive between 3 and 4 pm on March 18 lost both a platinum engagement ring and a platinum wedding ring there, police report.
Police ask anyone who finds the finger rings to contact them at 426-5841.
Wheelchair Found
On about March 10, staff members of the Big Y supermarket at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street found a blue Invacare-brand wheelchair in the parking lot of the store, according to police.
Police ask anyone who knows who owns the wheelchair to contact police patrol Officer Todd Dingee at the police station at 426-5841.
DUI Charge
Police said that at about 2 am on March 21, they received a report concerning a person who was driving a vehicle away from a local residence in an intoxicated state and possibly heading southward on South Main Street, so they went to that area to investigate.
Police said they located a vehicle matching the description that was provided to them and then stopped that vehicle in the driveway at 134 South Main Street.
After giving her field sobriety tests, police charged the driver, Ingrid Bergquist, 47, of 134 South Main Street with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, and with failure to surrender a suspended license to the state.
After processing the case, police released Bergquist from custody on $100 bail for an April 3 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Marijuana
Responding to a complaint regarding a suspicious vehicle in the area at about 9 pm on March 21, police went to Lone Oak Meadows in Sandy Hook and following a brief investigation, charged a 17-year-old girl with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana.
Police released the girl into the custody of her parents for an April 3 appearance in Danbury Youthful Offender Court. State law conceals the identities of people under age 18 who are charged with crimes.

DUI Arrest
Police report that at about 12:47 am on March 22, they spotted a motorist driving over the roadâs centerline on South Main Street, near its intersection with Cold Spring Road, so police stopped the vehicle.
After investigating, police arrested the 17-year-old male driver on charges of driving under the influence, possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle by a minor, violation of curfew, and failure to drive to the right.
Following arrest processing, police released the boy on $200 bail for an April 3 appearance in Danbury Youthful Offender Court. State law conceals the identities of people under age 18 who are charged with such offenses.
Credit Card
After learning that police held a Danbury Superior Court warrant for his arrest, Jeffrey Gargiulo, 19, of Patterson, N.Y., went to the police station on the afternoon of March 20, where police charged him with 11 criminal offenses.
Police arrested Gargiulo one count of theft of a credit card, five counts of illegal use of a credit card, four counts of sixth-degree larceny, and one count of fifth-degree larceny.
The arrest stems from an investigation which follows a complaint that police received on February 2.
Police have said the credit card was used at multiple Danbury businesses.
On March 5, police arrested a 17-year-old girl on the same 11 offenses in connection with the same incidents. Police did not disclose that girlâs age because she is under age 18. Her case is pending in court.
Police said they released Gargiulo on March 20 on $100 bail for a March 26 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Firearm
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Robert Marus, 21, of 25 Pepperidge Road turned himself in at the police station on March 21, and was charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm and with illegal possession of a firearm silencer.
On the morning of February 6, police had received a call for help through which they learned that Marus had accidentally discharged a .22-caliber rifle in his backyard, shooting himself in the right foot. Marus had thought that the safety mechanism on the rifle was engaged, but it was not, police have said.
Marus was treated for injuries at Danbury Hospital following that February 6 incident.
On March 21, police released Marus on $200 bail for an April 7 court appearance.
Currituck Road
About 2 pm on March 20, police were doing traffic enforcement work on Currituck Road when they stopped motorist Marc Smith, 20, of Monroe for driving too fast, police said.
After investigating, police charged Smith with traveling unreasonably fast and with driving with a suspended license.
Police released Smith on $100 bail for a March 31 court appearance.
Church Hill DUI
About 5:24 pm March 20, motorist Istvan Bogdan, 59, of 60 Buttonball Drive, who was driving a 1994 Chrysler Concorde sedan eastward, attempted to make a left turn into a commercial driveway at 61 Church Hill Road, when the Chrysler collided with a westbound 2002 Ford Expedition SUV, police said.
There were no injuries. After investigating, police charged Bogdan with driving under the influence, failure to drive to the right, and making a restricted turn. Police released Bogdan on $100 bail for an April 3 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Vacant Property
While on patrol about 1 am on March 22, police spotted several vehicles parked at the 22-acre site of the former Cornerstone of Eagle Hill at 32 Alberts Hill Road in Sandy Hook. The property, which is now vacant, formerly was a drug/alcohol rehabilitation center.
The site is closed for business and is off-limits to the public, police said.
On investigating the presence of the vehicles, police said they found seven people who were illegally on the property. Police said they charged each of the seven with simple trespassing, an infraction that carries a $92 fine. The infractions are appealable in court.
Those who were charged are largely in their late teens, police said.
Charged with simple trespassing were: Zachary Pettengill of 31 Great Hill Road; Thomas Barber of 33 Zoar Road; Matthew Jones of 10 Mountain Laurel Lane; Dale Harris III of 213 Sugar Street; Peter Baratta and Damien Rowley, both of Danbury; and Richard Acosta of Parlin, N.J.
Police ask that the public alert them of any illegal activity at the Alberts Hill Road property.
I-84 DUI
State police report that they saw motorist Shirley Ann Heath, 47, of Waterbury driving erratically on eastbound Interstate 84, near the Exit 10 interchange, about 3:35 am March 22, so they stopped her to investigate.
State police said they arrested Heath on a charge of driving under the influence. After processing, she was released on $500 bail for an April 6 court appearance.
Interstate Crash
About 7 pm on March 20, motorist Denis Flanagan, 37, of Tuckahoe, N.Y., who was driving a 2007 Infiniti G-35 on Interstate 84, near Exit 9, slowed for traffic conditions, after which the Infiniti was struck from behind by motorist Yudy Suriel, 32, of The Bronx, N.Y., who was driving a 1997 Honda Civic, state police said.
There were no injuries. State police verbally warned Suriel for following too closely.
Bennetts Bridge Road
Police report that sometime between 7 pm on March 20 and 6:15 pm on March 21, someone illegally entered a motor vehicle parked near a home on southern Bennetts Bridge Road but apparently removed nothing from inside the vehicle.
The incident constitutes criminal attempt to commit larceny. Police are investigating and ask anyone with information on the incident to contact patrol Officer Steven Borges at the police station at 426-5841.
Coupe Vs SUV
About 9:14 am on March 23, motorist Resul Dalipi, 36, of 2 Misty Vale Road, who was driving a 2009 Audi A-5 coupe, was backing up in order to exit a perpendicular parking space in front of the Newtown General Store at 43 Main Street, police said.
At that time, motorist Renee Stewart, 32, of 190 Mt Pleasant Road, who was driving a 2005 Nissan X-Terra SUV, was traveling northward on Main Street, police said.
The Nissan then made a proper left turn in seeking to enter a perpendicular parking space in front of 43 Main Street, police said.
 The Audi and the Nissan collided. There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Dalipi for unsafe backing.
Distracted Driving
Motorist Stephen Pelletier, 53, of New Milford, who was driving a 2000 Mercury Marquis sedan eastward on Church Hill Road about 11 pm March 21, was attempting to make a left turn onto The Boulevard, when the Mercury was struck from behind by eastbound motorist Jessica Troccolla, 25, of 155 Alpine Drive, who was driving a 2003 Hyundai Sonata sedan, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said that Troccolla told them that she was using the text messaging function on a cellphone and did not see the Mercury.
Police issued Troccolla an infraction for distracted driving and for following too closely. Police issued Pelletier an infraction for failure to carry vehicle registration and insurance documents.
