A Common Goal

To the Editor:

As co-presidents of the Head O’ Meadow Parent Teacher Association, we would like to respond to last week’s letter from Mr Burton titled “Crucify Him?”

This is perfect example of one quote gathering a life of its own and becoming, in some people’s minds, reality. The Newtown Bee did not ask us our opinion about the education budget following the Board of Finance meeting. If we had been asked, we would have responded that we fully support our town officials, including members of both the Board of Finance and the Board of Education. We all work as volunteers with a common goal of making our community a better place.

Our primary objective this budget season, as it was last year, is to get as many facts out to our parents as possible and to get them to the polls in April for our town referendum. Newtown is our town and it is not our wish to promote its division.
