William Lawrence Poole

US Navy Veteran

William Lawrence Poole, 77, of Shelton, died March 21, at St Vincent’s Medical Center, after a courageous battle with lung cancer, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 18, 1932, to Irma Durant and Ralph Poole in Pearl River, N.Y.

In addition to his beloved wife of 55 years, Rosemarie Colangelo Poole, he leaves his three devoted daughters, June Boccuzzi and her husband, Thomas, of Sandy Hook, Joy Figlar and her former husband, Paul, of Stratford, and Allison Poole of Milford; and four grandchildren.

He served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea aircraft carrier from 1950 to 1954. Mr Poole was employed by AMF, Avco Lycoming, and spent most of his career at United Technologies Norden Systems. After his retirement, he became a tax preparer for H&R Block.

Mr Poole was an avid golfer and belonged to the Men’s Club at Whitney Farms. He also was a great Yankee and NY Jets fan.

Funeral services were March 25, in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull, and in St Lawrence Church, Shelton. Entombment will follow in the St Monica Mausoleum of the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
