NUSAR Seeks Support
NUSAR Seeks Support
To the Editor:
This year, Newtown Underwater Search and Rescue (NUSAR) is celebrating 20 years of providing emergency water rescue services to Newtown and our neighboring towns. We appreciate that the residents of Newtown have recognized the need for the important services that we provide.
NUSAR members are area residents who volunteer their time and talents 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Please take some time to explore our Web site â www.nusar-ct.org â to learn more about our members and the quality and professional services we provide.
Over the last two years, NUSAR has had the good fortune of adding five new divers to our team. New members are essential for maintaining round-the-clock readiness for any water-related emergency.
As our team grows to meet the needs of the residents of Newtown, the cost associated with training and equipping our divers grows as well. In order to meet operational and training costs we are calling on our neighbors to help us raise money for our annual operating budget. All donations are 100 percent tax-deductible and go directly to NUSAR in order to help us upgrade equipment, maintaining current equipment, and provide essential advanced training to our team members. We look forward to continuing our volunteer efforts and serving the great residents of Newtown throughout 2010.
We urge our friends and neighbors to please respond when our fundraising letter arrives in the mail. NUSAR would not be able to continue without your support.
