Michelle Haitz was named to the first semester Dean’s List for the 2009–2010 school year at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Penn. In order for a student to earn the award at the university, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Genevieve Marie Santayana of Sandy Hook was named to the fall 2009 Dean’s List at the University of Sciences in Philadelphia. Selection for the award at the university is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a C, and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken during that semester.

Dr Michael Obre, son of Jack and Mary Obre of Sandy Hook, successfully defended his dissertation on March 14 for the EdD in Instructional Leadership Program at Western Connecticut State University. Dr Obre is the Fine and Applied Arts Department Head at Danbury High School, and he lives in Sandy Hook with his wife Mari and son Jack in Sandy Hook.

Jordyn Good of Sandy Hook has been named to the Dean’s List for the 2009 Fall Semester in Villanova School of Business at Villanova University, Villanova, Penn. To qualify for Dean’s List at the university, full-time students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5, with no missing of non-passing grades.

Also at Villanova University, Sandy Hook residents Lillian Campbell, Kellie Datin and Mary George made the Dean’s List in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for the 2009 Fall Semester.

Seth C. Hull earned Faculty Honors for the 2009 fall semester at Trinity College, Hartford. To earn Faculty Honors at the college, a student must achieve a semester grade point average of at least 3.667.

Zachary Gordon earned placement on the Dean’s List for the 2009 fall semester at Berklee College of Music, Boston. To be eligible for the honor at the college, full-time students must achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or above, a part-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.6 or above.
