Youth Arrested
Police report that after learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, a boy under age 18 went to the police station on March 24 and was charged with traveling too fast for conditions and also with driving a motor vehicle without a license/second offense.
The arrest stems from a motor vehicle accident that occurred about 2 am last October 17 on Alberts Hill Road.
In that accident, a 16-year-old boy was driving a 2005 Saturn Vue SUV westward on Alberts Hill Road when the vehicle went off the roadâs right shoulder entered a wooded area, struck a tree, and then overturned. All four teenage occupants were able to exit the vehicle, police have said. The driver received chest and neck injuries from the vehicleâs seatbelt. A 15-year-old male rear-seat passenger received facial, head, and shoulder injuries, according to police.
The two other passengers, who are a 14-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, left the accident scene before emergency personnel arrived. Both passengers were later located and had received minor injuries in the crash.
The driver was driving the vehicle with a learnerâs permit and without the required supervision of a licensed driver, police have said.
After processing the youthâs arrest on March 24, police released the boy on a written promise to appear on April 12 in Danbury Youthful Offender Court. Police declined to disclose the boyâs identity because he is under age 18.
