College Admissions: The Good, The Bad, And The Internet
College Admissions: The Good,
The Bad, And The Internet
Stephanie Klein-Wassink will visit the CH Booth Library, Thursday, April 15, at 7 pm, to speak about college admissions and how social media such as Twitter and Facebook has changed the way families should approach the process. The program, âCollege Admissions, the Good, the Bad, and the Internetâ is designed for families and individuals starting to navigate admissions for both college and graduate school.
A native of Chicago, Stephanie Klein Wassink graduated from Brown University with a history concentration in 1988, and worked for Northwestern Universityâs Kellogg School as a member of the admissions committee. During her two years at Northwestern, she read and evaluated 2,000 applications annually, performed as many as 50 interviews per week, and made admit, deny, deferral, and waitlist recommendations to the Director of Admissions.
She received her MBA at the University of Pennsylvaniaâs Wharton School in 1995. She is the author and publisher of Your Childâs Day: A Journal for Parents and Caregivers.
In early 2004, Ms Klein-Wassink started Winning Applications, LLC. Since founding the company, she has helped dozens of families navigate the intricacies of the college and/or graduate school process.
There is no charge for the program. Registration is requested at chboothlibrary.org.
