SPRING BOOK & EPHEMERA FAIR APRIL 13 IN BURLINGTON, VT.

avv/gs set 3/26 #733479

BURLINGTON, VT. — On April 13, booksellers from Vermont and the greater New England area will bring their wares here for the 15th annual Vermont Spring Book & Ephemera Fair. Sponsored by the Vermont Antiquarian Booksellers Association and filling the Exhibition Hall at the Sheraton Hotel, the fair gives book, postcard and print lovers a chance to see an entire region’s offerings at once.

Show hours are 10 to 4, and there is a modest admission charge for adults (under 16 free). Prices vary widely, from an old postcard of Burlington that may cost as little as $2, to a rare Hemingway first edition that can cost $2,000 or more.

“Antiquarian” has always been part of the sponsoring association’s name, but it does not mean a room of antiques. Some leather-bound tomes from the 1600s and 1700s are often available, however, most book dealers at this show also offer Vermont history, “modern first editions,” mysteries, poetry, books on the American Civil War, even art and music books.

Also on view will be postcards, prints, maps and other ephemera, too.

The hotel is at 870 Williston Road. For more information, www.vermontisbookcountry.com or call organizer Donna Howard at 802-527-7243.
