Newtown High School hosted a Fairy Tale Breakfast on Saturday, March 19, with cast members of the school's production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast in character.

The show ran from Wednesday, March 16, to Sunday, March 20.

The breakfast ran from 10 am until noon in the school's cafetorium, and more than 100 tickets were sold, according to the production's director Jane Matson and producer Janice Gabriel.

NHS culinary students prepared and served breakfast before cast members were announced and walked on stage to meet the young girls and boys in attendance.

"Our friends are on their way," said high school student Robby Gray, just before Belle, Beast, and the rest of the characters made their way on stage.

Children attending the event were given gift bags, which included a pen and an autograph book.

One by one, children, some dressed their own costumes, walked across the stage to request autographs from characters.

Crafts were also offered during the event, like creating bookmarks and decorating wands.
