Outdoor Burning Permits Extended

Because of the persistent wet weather, outdoor burning will be allowed in Newtown for an extended period of time this year.

Newtown’s fire marshal’s office has announced that it will continue to issue permits for outside burning until April 15. The cost is $5.

The fire marshal’s office is located in the Kendro building at 31 Peck’s Lane. Office hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
