Michael A.    DeVietro
Michael A. DeVietro Sr, 76, of Newtown, a retiree of the US Postal Service and St Vincentâs Medical Center, died on March 19.
A US Army Veteran of the Korean War, Mr DeVietro was a Newtown resident for 11 years.
Born and raised in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Ferdinando and Stella Spinosa DeVietro.
He was predeceased by a brother, Angelo DeVietro, and a sister, Anna Sciarappa. Survivors include his beloved wife, Gloria Ozzi DeVietro; a daughter, Michele Robinson, and her husband, John, of Newtown; three sons, Fred DeVietro, and his wife, Carrie-Jo, of Beaverton, Ore., Michael DeVietro Jr of North Haven and David DeVietro, and his wife, Heidi, of Atkinson, N.H.; three sisters, Carmela DeVietro, Phyllis Cascella, and Antoinette Piantedosi, all of Bridgeport; a sister-in-law, Jean DeVietro of Bridgeport; nine grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Lena, Nicholas, Angela, and Michael DeVietro and Alyssa, Drew, and Christopher Robinson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services took place on March 23 from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull, and at St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment followed in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.
