Gregg Wheeler Loper

Gregg Wheeler Loper, 52, of Newtown died March 17 in his home.

He was the beloved husband of Lumdaum (Toy) Loper.

Born in Bridgeport, he was raised in Trumbull. Gregg was a graduate of Nonnawaug High School in Woodbury and attended Lake City Community College in Florida. He was the owner of Deep Wood Tree Service in Newtown.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his mother, Janet S. Ortner, and her husband, Elwin; his father, Arthur W. Loper, and his wife, Jane; his stepfather, Charles Schempp; a brother, Scott S. Loper, and his wife, Andrea; a sister, Ginni Springsteen; a niece, Heather Loper Murphy; and his close friend, Sengdy Nithnikone. He was predeceased by his brother, David Loper.

Graveside services will be announced.
