Singing (And Dancing) ‘Footloose’ Praises
To the Editor:
I am writing to congratulate our Newtown High School Drama Club for their recent performances of Footloose at the high school auditorium. I can only imagine the hard work and commitment it takes to pull off a show like that, let alone perform it in spectacular fashion.
Thank you to the directors, production team, and other adults involved that devoted so much time and effort to helping the students succeed. I can’t say enough about the work ethic and talent of the young men and women on stage and behind the scenes.
The set construction, set changes, lighting, sound, and costumes were very aesthetic and professional. The skill sets on display — acting, singing, and dancing— were amazing. All the young men and women involved in Footloose should be very proud of themselves.
I’m sure their parents, families, and friends are. Thank you for a wonderful night of family fun.
Our kids were singing those classic ‘80s songs in the car and dancing in their socks on the hardwood floors when we got home. The show was a great example of why it is important for our community to keep the arts a top priority in our school district.
Well done!
Sincerely,
Kevin Kuzma
