Linda M. (Haitsch) Schwartz, 67, of Bethel died March 23 at the Saint John Paul II Center, Danbury, following a two-year battle with cancer. She was born January 7, 1948, in Evansville, Ind., and was the daughter of Aurel J. Haitsch, Jr, of Bethel and the late Margaret L. (Humphrey) Haitsch.

In addition to her father, with whom she made her home, her daughter Jennifer Schwartz-Renkert and her husband Tyler of Newtown; her brother Aurel J. Haitsch III of Atlanta, Ga., three grandchildren, Olivia, Maya, and Grayson Renkert; and her uncle, Richard Haitsch, survive Ms Schwartz. Her longtime companion, David Lerchey, predeceased her.

Ms Schwartz was raised and educated in Bethel and was an area resident until moving to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in 1980. She returned to live in Bethel in 2005. She was employed as a waitress, most recently at the Sycamore Drive-In in Bethel.

The family will receive friends at a memorial gathering Thursday, March 26, from 5 to 8 pm, at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury.
