Bus Mishap

Police report that midafternoon on March 21, Sarah Hayes, 22, of 40 Great Hill Road was driving a school bus southward on Farrell Road, near Old Hawleyville Road, when the bus stopped for flaggers who were on duty for a maintenance project.

While then attempting to pass a vehicle that was stopped in the southbound lane, the rear bumper of the bus made contact with some metal guardrailing along the northbound road shoulder, causing minor damage to the bus, police said.

There were two student passengers on the MTM Transportation bus, police said. There were no injuries. The incident is under investigation.

Burglary/Larceny

Sometime overnight on March 20–21, someone used a hand tool to break a large front window at Buzz’s Shell gas station at 286 South Main Street, after which the cash register drawer was stolen from the premises, police said.

Police learned of the incident about 6:40 am on March 21. Police ask anyone with information on the crime to contact them at the police station at 203-426-5841.

Thefts From Vehicles

Sometime overnight on March 20–21, someone entered several unlocked vehicles parked on Clearview Drive, Toddy Hill Road, and Deerfield Drive and stole unspecified items of value from within the vehicles, police said.

Items of no value were discarded alongside the road. Police ask anyone with information on the crimes to contact them at 203-426-5841.
