Anna Schwartz
Anna Marie Scheie Schwartz, 71, of Trumbull, died February 8. Born to Anna (Frøystein) and Harald Scheie on November 17, 1946, in Staten Island, N.Y., she grew up the eldest of five children and graduated from Port Richmond High School.
Her son, Kris Schwartz of Sandy Hook; daughter-in-law, Heather; granddaughter, Jocelyn; her brothers, Nils, John, and Douglas; and sister, Edith, survive her.
Ms Schwartz earned her nursing degree at King's County Hospital Center in 1967. She married Lawrence Schwartz in 1974. After working two decades for Quick Billing Service in Bogota, N.J., she returned to care for others as a visiting nurse in New York City and New Jersey.
She enjoyed painting, drawing, calligraphy, and spending time with her friends and family. She completed the New York City Marathon in 2005 and 2006, while battling Hepatitis C, which she acquired as a hemodialysis nurse in the late-1960s/early-1970s.
There will be a 3:30 pm memorial service in Manhattan at the Norwegian Seamen's Church, 317 East 52nd Street, New York City, on Saturday, March 24.
