Residents of all ages shared table space in the Monsignor Weiss Gathering Hall at St Rose of Lima School on Friday, March 3, when the first of three St Rose Annual Friday Knight Fish Fry events was held. Diners had their choice of fried or baked fish or macaroni and cheese, along with french fries, coleslaw, clam chowder, a beverage, and dessert, all for $10 per adult or $6 per child. The annual Lenten celebration has been an offering to the community by Knights of Columbus Virgilius Council 185 since 2005. Additional dinners will be offered this month on Fridays, March 24 and 31, from 5 to 8 pm, at 46 Church Hill Road. Guests can dine in or take advantage of "speedy takeout service," according to the Knights.                     (Joe Rahtelli photos)

Knights of Columbus members - including Ed Wolf on the left and Nick Kopcik on the right - fried up fish just outside the Monsignor Weiss Gathering Hall on March 3, then sent it inside to be served to diners. Local Knights will be back at work on Fridays, March 24 and 31, for the next two Lenten Fish Fry events at St Rose of Lima.
